Oh god that is insane! I would never said these were full 3D.
Totally rocking! :))

Hey Jakub
Many thanks for sharing this and giving such a detailed insight into your process - your attention to detail and research really stand out as a key part of what allows you to create such beautiful imagery.
I think I noticed on the video you had renamed the mastering CGI indoor HDRI as "corrected" - would you mind sharing what you did to it?
Cheers
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Your attention is spot on! :) I forgot to say - I "white balanced" the HDRI - this means I completely desaturated the walls so they do not have the yellow color cast from the floor. I added this to the description of the video as well. Thanks!

So guys I would love to share with you the little video I created for the series, here:

Super quick technical info: It was done by super old school camera back projection technique of the final rendered images on the mesh. I photoshoped multiple images, extended scene etc. I had to doit this way because I photoshopped a lot of images and this also saved a ton of rendering time.

Here is also my full SOA talk (a lot about the series as well):

Cheers! :))

hello Jakub, i am trying to achieve marble from your tips. Could you post reflect and refract maps from your renderings? Do you have them still?
Hello,
unfortuantely I do not have them rendered - but you can make your own taking the previews I posted as a reference :))

This is a very nice tip. My questions (for Rawalanche as well) - Now if I would like to use those in SpeedTree, I need to save them separately, so:
1. Is it possible to Batch "save" cropped maps?
2. Is it possible to rotate megascans before cropping?

That's really awesome, is the stylit demo available at http://stylit.org/ limited? From your youtube video it looks like you have a version with many more options, the one I tried from stylit.org doesn't have many options (I don't see a way to try this technique on my own models just the presets).
I'd love to try this out on a more complicated scene.  Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much Elindell. And yes - demo is limited, you can not use your own models - only those available. I am going to try to negotiate publishing unlocked version of Stylit but only creating license for me took months, such process would be very long I guess.

Finally, the last one! :) The project was on hold because of the license, should have been out so many weeks ago.
ATTENTION - the project itself was not rendered in Corona, but in Stylit instead. Corona was used to render out guide passes (thats the input of Stylit).
On Behance there is demo to download and material ball I was capable of creating - very fun to play with hah.

Beautiful Computer Generated Images is a collection of Seven projects, collection of seven Manifests, where every piece is an intersection of Technology and Art. It depicts imaginary places, imaginary objects where every element is arranged to create beautiful Composition and where photorealistic simulations are enriched and elevated by Custom color mapping to craft a piece formed by true Art.

Manifests show what I consider truly beautiful, what I am passionate about and what I love. Passion in Computer Generated Image, passion in Composition, beauty in Simplicity, Light, custom Colors, passion in bending image within a Purpose, in adjusting piece with an Abstract elements, all elevated by Custom Color Mapping to form something Unseen, something New and very Artistic.

Manifests have been developed for 1 year, working solely on the manifests, between 2016 and 2017 and are periodically released every three weeks. After all seven have been released, there is going to be a book stitching all the pieces together.

Everything is custom made - from scratch - models, materials.
I welcome to watch the seventh one.

VII. Computer Generated Art
Computer Generated Art is set of two traditional Still Life Paintings created by new Technological Approaches. It depicts passion and beauty in Art and Painting. Love in Novel Technology Computer Algorithms, Research and Development enhancing possibilities of Digital Art.

Project has been done in Stylit accompanied by Corona renderer. Stylit is developed by Czech researchers - http://stylit.org/. Stylit is able to repaint painted material sphere onto any geometry by repeating its look and mostly stylization. I collaborated directly with the researchers to make this project happen. The project was finished on 19.7.2017 - the date of the video - and was put on hold because of license. Now can be published as I am licensed to use the Stylit technogloy being patent-pending by Adobe.

Fruit still life was done by sampling and creating huge number of material spheres from real high resolution still life paintings and then projected onto geometry by Stylit. Shadows were added by Corona pass.
Flower still life was done by sampling more stylized still life paintings and then projected onto geometry.
This process is something similar to creating material sphere in Corona but such material sphere is defined only by its overall appearance.
Corona was used to create guide passes - the Stylit´s input is not geomtery itself but rather passes - beauty, normal, refelction and so on.
Inspiration credits: Severin Roesen, Damien Venditti.
Upcoming photo book release.

great looking images. :) Im thinking about boats with flowers aren't connected to death in some culture?
Thank you! And ohh! You are already second person telling me its a nice funeral, but it shouldnt look like! I meant it to be just a boat of people transfering flowers, not funeral. I just did not noticed its also a death connected symbol. But you are correct, thank you.
You already know what I am going to say... Magnificent :) Can't wait for the next one!
The only comment I do have is the low res mountain texture (which you already mentioned) but thats it...
Thank you for another appreciation and following the series! Also critics much appreciated.

Now thats a very very pleasing to look at - congratulations! :) I especially love the foliage - I think you got it perfect, its very rich, vivid, and totally not CG looking (as many foliage out there is). You also got all the rest looking very natural, overally its super natural.
I would be curious how such animation look in fusion composition? Constructed by each pass? How the passes are used and how the ID maps are used.

Great work!
Thank you so much! :)
what is the title of the last one? ;)
Does it stick out of the series so much? I would call it "Morning in Srinagar" probably :)

Hello guys, please see the sixth project of the collection almost there :) Below is the description, on the Behance (https://www.behance.net/gallery/52767055/Beautiful-Computer-Generated-Images-IV-Reflections) there are high-res pictures and cloud in 10K to download (for print).
I know I didnt make forest and mountain the best detailing, but I was desperate as I spent a lot of time (4 weeks I guess) working with terragen and trying to figure it out and make it work for what I wanted and had no more power to make those details better.

WARNING - this project was not done solely in Corona - I also used Terragen. Picture with the cloud is Terragen solely and picture with the mountain and water has mountaing and clouds + sky made in Terragen as well. Otherwise Corona was used.

VI. Natural Gradients
Natural Gadients is an imaginary place situated in Srinagar depicting a boat full of Flowers sailing towards a mountain partially covered with Clouds. It depicts passion and beauty in Nature. Pasion in contrast between one color Water and colorful Flowers. Beauty in Gradients - gradient in Water, gradient in the Sky. Beauty in contrast between Gradient and a monotone Element. Passion in Simplicity and Abstraction. Beauty in the Blue color scheme.
Clouds and Sky are also Computer Generated - done in Terragen. Other parts rendered in beautiful Corona rendering engine. Modeling was done in 3Ds Max - flowers not modelled.

Upcoming Manifest - VII. - 19.7.2017
Thank you for watching!

love the natural lighting Jakub. so when are you publishing the book? :)
Thank you :) Well its not going to be a "book" but more of a brochure stitching all the images together into one handy book with nice type fonts and presentation style. Its going to be just PDF for download - but I am going to have it printed for me (and  for peaople who would love to have it) - just a little personal book. Its going to be released after the seventh project is released sometimes between 19.7.2017 and 9.8.2017.

Jakub, amazing as usual :)
I really like the composition of colors in this one. Beige and blue works great here. I always liked when there's not too much different hues in a scene.
Is it possible for you to show us render before and after applying LUT? Or maybe you don't want to show it either :)
Cheers!
Majeranek, thank you! I appreciate it so much :)
Regarding before/after - sure, see attached (before LUT, after LUT) - I adjusted further in photoshop then.

Thanks for the in-depth answer, I really appreciate it :) Great to know your process is that straightforward too!
I myself am also trying not to overcomplicate things in post (like a true retoucher would) but the pleasant feel & look of your renders is something else. That is also why I initially thought you are doing a lot of highlight / major corrections in post which is how I normally see these types of images developed.
Anyway, kudos man, these images are super amazing and please keep us updated when the next one comes out ;)
Thank you again! I am so happy you like them and think of it this way - wow! :) And well, not overcomplicated  now, but who knows, maybe there is some magic other way of getting things better, I personally tried so many ways, and am always trying, so thats the main reason why I found this (LUT) that works as a magic trasnformer haha.
