Colour/Material Scattered Objects by Texture


Hi guys, I might be combining two requests in one, but I think it would be great so have some way of coloring or assigning materials based on a texture.

I think you can do this in 3dsmax as described here with the 'Surface Color map'.

A side from the simple color referencing which is not that flexible, what would be cool is to read color from C4D generated textures like this:

Lastly, it does not have to stop at color, but we could actually assign materials based on texture instead of just color. Here a dirty mock up:

But would it also be possible to control material application with a map?
