Hi Beanz,

Your attached example looked really nice, to which channel do you add the Thin-Film shader? And I was curious, does it only work with Metal presets? Thanks,

New update:

The baked Corona Lights don't even work with LightMix (to compensate the lack of Range Mapper with Corona Light) and everything is messed up..

Okay, thanks for letting me know. If you can, please feel free to send me the scene via a support ticket (link in my signature below) and I'll take a look for you. :)

While reducing the scene for uploading I remembered to use Highlight Clamping and it indeed solved the fireflies issue, but the only drawback is that it will kill the Dynamic Range in the final render, that's right?

Thanks friend, sure I will send it.

I had a look at the file and rendered it out. Is this what you are expecting to get?

Thanks man for your effort and time, honestly speaking I can get that result but the problem is that it works very random, also more important it doesn't work with Range Mapper.. It's sort of out of control..

Thanks man, that's great. Once I was accidently able to get some results from the Corona Light and Xpresso so I baked it (using the Timeline function>bake) to use in another scene because of the Sound Effector inability in setting start/end frames (that's a bad drawback/limitation in C4d), and when I merged the Corona Light with its Xpresso in the new scene again it was not possible to use a Range Mapper with it, it totally didn't work, but something interesting happened!

In fact it was possible to increase or decrease the baked Corona Light intensity by adding it into the Corona LightMix that's a huge benefit of LightMix but from my side there is also a minor drawback, because I myself apply all the lightmix values/setup to the scene before the final rendering in fact I remove all the lightmix passes from MultiPass to decrease the render time but this way and in this case at lease the baked Corona Light pass should exist in the lightmix..

Hi, are you able to share a zipped example of your scene?

Thanks man, now I was preparing the scene as Bengamin mentioned. Things totally look out of control when working with Corona lights and Xpresso, I don't know really.. maybe you can figure it out by taking a look at the scene example, thanks.

There is a bug in C4D that prevents the sample node from actually doing its work: You need to add a solid node (or use fields in general) to make your setup work.
No blame goes to Corona in this case.

Thanks friend, I am aware of that issue, sound effector is not the problem in my case but the Range Mapper.

Hello Bengamin, thanks man for your time indeed. I am not using global volume exactly cuz of bad experience with its fireflies and unabling to clean the noise. So I am just using the Skylight volume, I am also using Corona High Quality Denoising, as I see you have no fireflies in the last example. So I cannot figure out what's the issue honestly speaking.. because my scene is also very simple and there's not any special element making problems, I have no clue honestly speaking!

Hi,
Anyone facing white spots or splotches produced by the Corona Skylight Volume? The Corona Sun & Sky themselves are perfectly noise-free but I noticed that the Skylight Volume is producing some white dots on the surface of water (simple Corona physical material water preset) which I couldn't get rid of.

To be sure, I increased the roughness in the water material a bit so that I wouldn't have a 100% glossy water surface but it didn't help. I also disabled the "show in reflections" in the Corona Sun parameters but it also didn't help. Any ideas? Maybe Beanzvision can help me out with this issue as well. Thanks,

*Something I also needed to add is that the strong straight line between the water and the sky in the horizon is not visible in the Interactive Render but visible in the Final Render. Maybe you can help about this as well.

Thanks for the reply and your time friend,

Yeah I see it working very well in your example but I have at least 2 issues up to this point:

1) Range Mapper problem: I'm having a Corona light reacting to the sound effector to achieve the flickering effect, the problem is that the corona light is not working well with the Range Mapper while the native C4d lights work pretty smooth. In one word I cannot easily and simply increase or decrease the Corona light intensity. My setup is as easy as this example from a Reddit forum:

2) But my main overal problem is that I cannot totally set driver/driven for some of the Corona lights and elements in the scene. For example I wanna simply drive the light intensity of a Corona light by any other C4d factor but I see they mostly don't work, or at least sometimes they work and sometimes they don't work. I'm not an expert in this subject or maybe I am missing something but I'm totally having a hard time using Corona with Xpresso while it could be really beneficial. Any ideas?

Hi friends, can you confirm if Corona is functioning well with Xpresso from simple tasks like set driver/driven to more complicated structures? I cannot figure it out if they work together well or not, it seems so random sometimes working and sometimes not working.. Any advice?

Hi Beanzvision,

Thanks man, I solved it.

Hello guys, again this problem of difference between IR result and FR in Animation! When I simply save the image from IR in PNG format it's satisfying and enough but the saved frames...
Does the new OCIO OT has any role in this issue? When I simply save the image from IR it looks correct but the animation outputs are extremely dark. What's the reason? If the OCIO OT is only a tone mapping feature, could it be the reason?

In one word what should I do if I wanna see the final render the same as the interactive render result? Even the extracted Lightmix channel of the EXR in After Effects is very saturated, high contrast and totally different, indeed disgusted..
Thanks,

Thanks Tom,
I sent the file, it's the same file we talked about in the shared shader error topic, I wish you can solve both issues.
