Hi,

it looks there is a little confusion in Corona for Cinema 4D versioning so here is a summary:

Daily build - it is a development build of the latest Corona for Cinema 4D source codes i.e. the daily build is always of the newest version that is currently in development. It helps us get continuous feedback on our work. When we implement a new feature, we want to get it out to users as soon as possible to get instant feedback. The added benefit is that the features get tested on a broader range of hardware than we have at our disposal. However, for these reasons the daily build versions can be quite unstable and buggy.

Release candidate - when current development version has all planned features implemented we start to release the release candidates. Their purpose is to find and fix all remaining bugs. No new features should be added to release candidates, but when it is not a significant change, and it is connected to some bug fix a small feature could also be added to release candidate. The number of release candidates is not planned, and stability of them only limits it.

Stable release - when the latest release candidate is stable enough (all major bugs are fixed) we release the stable version. It is stable version so it is used by render farms.

Hotfix - when some major bug appears in the already released stable version we take the source code of it and we fix only the bug, no new features are added so it becomes the latest stable version. Because it is the most stable version is used by render farms.

[C4D] Daily Builds / Corona for Cinema 4D Beta 1 daily build
« on: 2017-03-31, 23:59:42 »
Hi all,

We are releasing first daily build of Corona for Cinema 4D Beta 1. This is a daily build so some parts of the plugin are not finished yet, it can be unstable and there is probably a lot of bugs. Update to the new core and complete UI review and rework took much more time than we expected but we would like to show you that development of the plugin keeps going. The work on interactive rewrite is still in progress thus it is not part of this daily build, but there are plenty of other changes, here is the list:

Update to new Corona core (1.6 daily build).

Completly reviewed and improved all parts of UI:

Corona menu: reorganizations.
Render settings: light material can be used as environment map now, primary and secondary solver settings replaced with GI mode.
Preferences: moved VFB settings from render settings, added new configurations.
Picture Viewer: added buttons for saving and resuming the render to/from exr file (also in VFB)
Materials: removed brightness, added level, other changes.
Tags: improved UI of compositing tag.

Other changes:

Automatic conversion of Cinema4D materials to Corona materials before render.
Added missing multipass elements (virtual beauty, bloom and glare etc).
Added missing features to Corona Output Shader
Added Corona ColorMix shader
Added more controls to postprocessing panel.
Added new icons.
Improvements in preview rendering.
Improved multipass dialog.
Improved synchronization of values with postprocessing panel.
macOS installer detects also Cinema Demo now.

Changes from A6.1: fixed conflicts between Corona for C4D and V-Ray for C4D plugins.
Changes from A6.2: fixed "Shaking camera" bug, problems with artifacts in displacement, resuming of rendering in Corona VFB when using the scene with UHD cache enabled.
Changes from A6.3: fixed problems with normal map strength settings, problems with normal maps when projection other than UVW mapping was used and various other issues connected to normals, not working motion blur when command line render is used and crashing of Corona when displacement was used mainly for bigger scenes.

[C4D] General Discussion / Corona for C4D A6.3 testing
« on: 2017-03-24, 23:03:53 »
Hi all,

because there was a lot of problems connected to normal maps we are releasing Corona for C4D A6.3. We fixed problems with normal map strength settings, problems with normal maps when projection other than UVW mapping was used and various other issues connected to normals. We also fixed not working motion blur when command line render is used and crashing of Corona when displacement was used mainly for bigger scenes.

I would like to ask you for testing the A6.3 version, and if it is OK, we will change the download links on Corona download page. Here are the links for testing:

[C4D] General Discussion / Corona for C4D A6.2 testing
« on: 2017-02-16, 21:29:47 »
Hi all,

during intensive work on Beta 1 we managed to backport some important fixes to Corona Alpha 6.2. We fixed "Shaking camera" bug, problems with artefacts in displacement (it should work same like in Max now) and resuming of rendering in Corona VFB when using the scene with UHD cache enabled.

I would like to ask you for testing the A6.2 version, and if it is OK, we will change the download links on Corona download page. Here are the links for testing:

[C4D] General Discussion / Corona for C4D A6.1 testing
« on: 2017-01-26, 14:59:17 »
Hi all,

after some internal changes in our libraries, we finally fixed conflicts between Corona for C4D and V-Ray for C4D plugins. Now, Vray should not crash when it is installed together with Corona more. This changes should also fix some UI problems like "VFB can't be closed" or some "freezes of VFB or Picture viewer" (mainly on macOS).

I would like to ask you for testing the A6.1 version, and if it is OK, we will change the download links on Corona download page. Here are the links for testing:
