Hey folks,

now, im quite new to corona, and i dont know if this is known / intendet or already solved, but im pretty bordert by this.

Somehow straight bumb lines are expanding in distance. I probably never noticed cause i never had a project with pavements.
I already tryed it with different bumbmaps procedual and not, always the same result.
In vray it seems to work fine though.

Any suggestions?

BTW: I love corona, and im very crateful for this awsome renderer, seriously :)

Greets

Stephan

This is most probably caused by filtering. Not sure about C4D but in Max lowering "blur" value for image filtering would help. Or you can disable texture filtering completely in Corona's render settings.

Thx for your fast Reply Maru.

I tried  "Box" "Tent" And "None" with different values, but i seems like  it doent affect my problem.

Im not sure what u men with "lowering "blur" value for image filtering" though.

Sorry

This is a different setting, revert image filtering back to tent. Sorry but I am not experienced in C4D. In 3ds Max you have filtering settings for your loaded bitmap/texture. I didn't find global texture filtering in render setup but I think this is the setting (attached).

I tried all settings, lowerd the blure scale, raised it, changed the blur offset, changed the sampling (interpolation) but unfortunately without any changes.

edit:

this should be treatened as a bug. Behaviour is reproducable and can't be fixed by adjusting Filtering and/or blur.

Head over to http://corona-renderer.com/bugs and submit a report. :)

Could you share your scene file? Can't replicate it here.

All i've noticed is very small difference in using AA filters.
Problem you've describing could arise from unaligned diffuse & bump.

@burnin: Have you tried this using textures?

@burnin

i just used the bumb channel, no diffuse at all. Try it again, and if u need the scene i can upload it.

Maru referred to bitmap filtering, not AA filtering.

Yes, i know...

In above image, lower row, are tests for Corona AA filters. To show there's nothing similar going on here.
Please, don't answer with assumptions, speculations or ignorance.

In use is Corona Material shader with Diffuse (RGB 204, 80%) and procedural Cinema Tile Shader in Bumpmapping channel (sampling is always disabled for procedural textures!).

On Upper row you see 8bit png image texture for shaders in diffuse & mapping channels. And here again:
Scene:
Ground Plane=1sq.km.; (Number of UV tiles: A&B=50, C=30, D=20)
Corona Material Shader:
- Diffuse: RGB=204 / Brightness=80%
- Bumpmapping: Strength=1 / Texture=2k, Grayscale PNG 8bit

Cam.H=10m; Pitch= -30°
Poles H=10m (50x50cm), Distance between=10m

Below are different Sampling examples for Bitmap Shader.

Description in C4D Manual:

Or just share a scene... let's see.

Image filter: off, Texture Filter off.
Map is 512 jpeg. (but honestly, size and bitdepth do nothing have to do with the problem - I tested various formats, sizes and contents)

The only difference between these images are slightly offset UV coords, nothing else. And at this distance, there is no moire effect (as it is visible in the far)

Using DOF?
Do share a scene.
