I found out that proper Subdividion Quality in CoronaDisplacementModidier settings  can improve this a lot too.
By the way I use MultiMap for reflection differences between tiles. It works great!

Hi!
Thats very simple setup and I would like to archive steel patterns with convex lines in "gaps"
How to archive smooth displacement in gaps in this case?
I`ve tried also with Subdividion Quality in CoronaDisplacementModidier but it is only a bit better.

Hi,

There can be different workarounds with vertex/viewport canvas paint and distance maps but the important thing to understand here is that decal gets masked first by itself, then gets projected onto a surface, without connection to the base object material/maps.

So a feature request I see here is to have base object mask adding - masking (or adding to the existing one) the decal after it has been projected.
So there is map which masks the decal - projecting leaves with opacity e.g. - and then an enable/disable option for masking the projection further with base object related material/mask.
This will also cover the cases where decal is projected with different angles and will grant a more convenient texture/projection mapping workflow.

The feature request will be logged.

Thanks guys!
Finally I upgraded my workstation to 128gb ram;) (I wanted to do this in many cases in a past:))and now I can run this render once in 15000px and then I will double it to 30K with Topaz (I made some tests for that and it looks very OK. Now it seems much easier then at the begining.

I played a lot with Corona fractal and procedural maps on volumetric material.
Some examples in attachement and my Instagram.
I would use this new feature for sure but I understand that it woldnt be so popular feature.

Its render for huge poster and client requre this resolution.
I found out that I can manage it with region window in blowup mode. I will try.

Hi,

Do you have any advices how to render picture with 28000x18000px? When I try it there is not enough ram and max shut down (even when i try to render only parts using region to render in 4 or 9 parts independently..

I can render this full picture in about 10000px but above this size my computer cant handle it.. (I use 3900x, 64gb ram)
How to manage it?

Hi!

I need to prepare two render versions with ceiling lamp. First with white ceiling and another one with Shadow Catcher on ceiling. Lamp should look the same on both picures.
Problem is that there are differences in the appearance of the lamp (lamp from Shadow Cather picture is darker).
How to set Shadow Cather parameters to simulate white ceiling?

i am uploading the scene via dropbox.

from 10 to 20 passe i notice that alternatively the cpu frequency of the computer on DR and the the workstation goes down for 20-30 sec.
I don't know if it can be a problem in my local network, but usinig corona7 no problem

I had exactly the same problem with Daily Build.
I went back to Corona 7 and its ok now.

Hi!

Is it normal that while rendering on Daily Build Corona version processor is not around 100% all the time? Its 100% few minutess then about 50% next few minutes and back to 100% , and again 50% , all the time the same (master and all slaves the same).
I dont have this problem when I installed back Corona 7.

GIvsAA=128 and LSM=2  works quite well
