Hi,
Sorry I probably explained poorly.
It seems that in the V-Ray version you have an option for cryptomatte ID Type: Material (a version as seen here
https://www.chaos.com/blog/how-to-use-cryptomatte-render-elements-in-v-ray-for-sketchup)
Even soa academy explain the 'best' practice in vray is to use ID Type: Material (
https://www.stateofartacademy.com/cryptomatte-in-3dsmax-with-v-ray-5/)
Whereas in corona there is no such option. When will this be available? We would like to have our cryptomattes seperated by material i.e. wood_01, wood_02 etc (just example naming)
This then adds to the second question, that if I have an object with 2 materials, multi mat, would cryptomatte ID Type Material work?
And again i guess that would answer the 3rd question, if i have multiple scattered objects would it pick up the ID Type Material?
I was under the impression that cryptomatte was created to more or less 'replace' / automate the masking process thus not having to manually assign RGB
Hopefully this makes sense?
Thanks!
