Title: New triplanar option: Align maps parallel to longest axis
Post by: Basshunter on 2021-09-07, 20:35:08
Dear Corona team,

I wish there was an option in triplanar map to automatically align maps parallel to the longest axis of objects.
This little option would save us so much time and effort.

Hi Kris. Let me show you an example.

As you can see, with this new option, Triplanar map can detect the longest distance on every object dimensions and align textures accordingly.

Hello Basshunter,

We have discussed this idea with our developers, but unfortunately it is not possible due to technical limitations.

As a workaround, unfortunately requiring some manual labor, you can create a simple object like a box, align it with your object, and use the "reference node" option in the triplanar map.

Maybe in the future something like this will be possible. Thank you team for at least considering it.
