General CG Discussion / RAM Requirement For Rendering
« on: 2020-10-03, 16:57:36 »
Hi,
How much RAM is needed for rendering scenes you see below? (rendering single shot, not animation)

Hardware / Physical RAM for rendering
« on: 2020-08-20, 20:20:34 »
Hi,
My computer system has 16GB of RAM. The label on the ram reads 8GB DDR3 2400MHz Dual Channel (2* 8GB).
My Bios setup has a setting called Extreme Physical memory (Disabe/Profile1). When I choose disable, The memory clock is shown as 1333Mhz but when I choose profile 1, it reads 2400MHz. I away keep it disable. What would happen If I choose it as profile 1 (2400MHz)? Can it damage my memory over long time?
I'm gonna upgrade my DDR3 ram to DDR3 32GB. Can I add another dual channel ram with the same frequency but other brand name?

Hardware / PC Specification
« on: 2020-03-02, 08:22:48 »
Does a 16GB DDR4 RAM has any advantage over 16 GB DDR3 in 3D works?
My system specification is:
CPU: Intel Corei7 4790k 4 GHZ
RAM 16GB DDR3 1333MHz
GPU: ASUS RADEON R9 280 3GB
HDD: 256GB SSD (Windows Installed) + 1TB HD 7200 rpm.
Is it good for interior rendering purposes?

[Max] I need help! / Slow Rendering!!!
« on: 2020-03-02, 05:24:27 »
Hi,
I've downloaded a pre-made elevator scene from address below:
https://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/lift_car_model_elevator_interior
I downloaded the file and tried to convert all the materials into Corona material. I added a rectangle light behind the glass light at the ceiling and an another light with lower intensity below the glass light (affect reflection and specular turned off and just diffuse  remained  turned on for enhancing the lighting).
I set up a camera but render took too long and was noisy.
Can you please help me to get a better rendering in less time?
If possible please provide your scene files in a zip file, so I can study the right setting.
My system specification is:
CPU: Intel Corei7 4790K 4GHZ
RAM: 16GB DDR3
GPU: ASUS RADEON R9 3GB
Thanks.

First thing would be, check your file paths. Does Corona give you warning about missing assets?
Yes, I had 'missing resources' message. But I didn't have any idea about where the actual path is. Finally, I found it in a hidden path inside AppData in drive C. I Changed the path into a correct path, and It worked.
Thanks.

Hi,
I added some flowers from the library (FP), but it renders pure yellow color for those flowers. Why?
How can I solve this issue?

7
Use the Material Override function (in Render Setup / Scene tab / Render overrides) - drop your clay material in here.
Thanks, It worked. :)

Hi friends,
When I use Forest Pack, I select all the objects and apply a simple Corona Material (diffuse without reflection) but, bushes which are FP elements, keep their colorful material and don't take effect from Corona material. How can I render in full clay?

I like its soothing look. You could work more on tne building, but generally, it's cool.

Cool renders!
Is the first render which has a river a combination of CG and real image?

Love it, the grass adds up to the realism very much. Is it self made or stock ? Thanks !
Thanks, It's a parametric grass scattered over the ground.

Hi there,
This lion statue is a 3D scan model that I used ZBrush for retopologizing and adding some details to strengthen its compromised appearance, then I used Substance Painter for texturing process. Finally, I used 3Ds MAX and Corona Renderer for creating RAW image. PhotoShop post-production was the final step.
Please share your comments about this render.

Hi,
I've modeled this spur gear in SOLIDWORKS and rendered it in 3DS MAX and Corona. Please look at the image and see whether there is any physical defects in my material settings and render or not. You'll see two types of material for each color, cloudy and translucent plastics.

I provided you my model. Please apply your material and send me back your save file(max 2018).
Thanks

Hi,
I have designed a real dimmension spur gear in solidworks and exported it to Max.
I want to render it and get a photorealistic result. What is the best material setting for those plastic gears?
The following image is an example for the material type.
Do I need to use just scattering or do I need to use transluscency fraction without scattering?
Please show me a screenshot of the settings.
