... and in these cases, I certainly miss the occurrence of glints, scratches and other micro-surface contaminants...
//;)

PS
since you use 3DS Max, this 'scratched' (OSL shader) could come in handy

conventional = traditional, thus such study (negating the subject) must include both, pro et contra, respectively (especially when it comes to mastering taste for aesthetics) so, keep 'moving' - keep it coming   //;)

Volume caustics would be ideal.
But try gobo light technique, play with sharp shadows...

For such artistic cases use 'the old faithful' - Legacy Material. It has exactly what you need.
In example ~ just reflection w/ thin film

Well, .exr results (crn & bmwdr) should match 1:1 even w/ post FX on. Looking similar is simply wrong. Digital Colour is precise science (so we're told) ;)

Care to share your test exr & jpgs (result & reference to match to & analyze)?

Hey, no issue here.
R 2024 w/ latest daily

See, if you got "Use Cinema 4D color space" on (checked in Preferences/Renderer/Corona).

Well then, in such occasion reproduce the issue in different circumstances - Modify/customize proprietary parts systematically (change textures, replace geo). If issue persists, limit the scene to just that specific elements, so you're able to share it w/o exposing or damaging your client. Maybe you'll even find the cause doing just that. It's also more beneficial to solve the issue at source rather then relying on extra work and/or 3rd party solutions.

Yes, fixed with DaVinci Resolve Studio. Free version doesn't have it.
(BTW, if you're adventurous you could try w/ FOSS "Frameflow" version @(https://github.com/nihui/rife-ncnn-vulkan)
// used to use that few times before, since the one by N00MRAD occasionally flickered

Also, could you make and share a test scene exposing the issue for analysis.

I tested when this feature was first introduced and got crash-fested. Also mentioned it on Discord, but never checked it again.

IMHO
Save your time w/ Black magic...
'Resolved' using integrated "Open FX/Deflicker" set to "Floro Light" & slowed down /4x using "OpticalFlow".

PS.
It appears to me as, if caused by 'geo' ~ 'shading normals', 'low angle shadow' ... ?   subdivide some, up the geo resolution...

Maybe following thread can help you:  C4D 2024.4 Particles

First, get yourself 'The Greatest Reference'. There's quite a lot of high class bathroom photography around. Analyze and mimic its look and 'feel' - 'the story'. Because now, you're merely showing some sanitary stuff for a 'dirty-cheap' consumer.

ScanBox by Dave Riganelli (works w/ Substance suite)

BTW
no one is ever absolutely fully correct, art is in balance

Image, specs, clear description, steps to reproduce and a test scene, ...  or it didn't happen.
:p
