install and license

Ive lost half a day trying to figure this out.
C4D S24
4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Radeon Pro 580 8 GB
64 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
OS Ventura

It installs and I can see it in C4D s24 but the license is missing. Ive tried all the help docs and nothing works. Do I have to use V8? is that my issue? I was trying to install v9 as a trial with a few to buy it. It's not looking good. Help much appreciated.
