Hi,

I’m having trouble rendering an image using team render. The image is very large (2175x8700px), and the clients stop after a minute or two with the message:

Quote
2019/02/21 11:15:01  [Corona4D] [ TR ] Canceling render because of test break

I can team render a much smaller version of the image without any problems. At 362x1450px the clients stay online and render the image.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I’m attaching the full TR client log incase it’s helpful.

Thanks,
Rob

First thing to try is swapping to Manual rather than Automatic in the Corona Team Render settings, and raising the Packet Size. The larger the resolution, the larger the packet size. It's also suggested to raise the Update Interval too when you go for larger packets.

Hi TomG, I tried setting to manual with 128MB packet size and a 60s interval but the clients still stopped rendering.

I also tried (by accident) a small packet size of 12MB with 40s interval, which didn’t work either. I’m attaching logs both.

Do you have any other suggestions I can try?

Thanks,
Rob

Nothing at this time - could try an even larger packet size. Or could try through the Team Render Server rather than Team Render to Picture Viewer.

Some more info would be useful, just for diagnostics - how many C4D Clients are you using? What is the speed of your network? What version of Cinema 4D, and what version of Corona?

Thanks!

I tried through the server but the end result was the same unfortunately.

I original tried rendering with 8 clients, then just 1 for subsequent testing. The host and client are both mid 2015 iMacs (i7 6700k). Cinema 4D is r20.057 with the latest Corona daily (20 feb 19). I had the same problem using the last official release too (v3 hotfix).

I’m not totally sure what the network speed is but a connection test from Team Render reports:
Upload: 104MiB/s
Download: 110.40MiB/s

Hopefully this all helps. Let me know if I can provide any more info, I’m pretty keen to get this working.

Many thanks,
Rob

Would it help if I send you the scene file?

A scene never hurts, as at least then we can be comparing apples to apples. Be sure to Save Project With Assets so we get the textures etc. then the https://corona-renderer.com/upload is the private uploader (be sure to mention the forum thread, so we know what the scene is for/about :) )

Thanks Tom, I have just uploaded the scene files. Hopefully this sheds some light on the problem.

All the best,
Rob
