Hello guys,

Does someone have any hints how to achieve this kind of reflexes on a light bulb ? (see reference image)

Has you see, the glass have some sort of complexity on it that reflects allot the filament but not the environment.

The edges of the bulb appear to be quite apparent too.


Any help ?

How can I get something in the lines of fog color and fog multiplier in corona ?

1. The reference lightbulbs reflect a sharp environment.
2. Does your lightbulb have thickness?
3. It looks like in the reference lightbulbs the glowing part casts light on other elements (or they are so hot that they are glowing) so there is more glowing/bright stuff inside.

If you are referring to "fog" in glass materials - use absorption.

Yes the bulb have thickness.

Yeah the environment play a big part. What I'm trying to achieve is a big reflection of the filament but it cant reflect the environment that much that end up being a mirror.

Its hard to explain :S.

I don't think absorption has any use here.

Be sure to use at least close to physically correct intensity of emitting materials and reflectivity of glass. Your glass shouldn't be very reflective - this way you will cut off any unwanted reflections and only leave the brightest reflections that you want to keep (like windows and glowing parts on your reference picture).

Yep I´m using more or less physical correct values (1.55 ior )

Is there a way in have more absorption on edges ? In vray I would try to set a negative bias but in corona I cant use negative values on absorption...

Well, I ended up using a little bit absorption.

Still i would love to get a way to concentrate absorption on edges.

I added dirt on glass (the bulbs are on outside anyway) i think it helped a bit.
